Providing an annual holiday for disabled children

Treasury

As you are aware, as a charity we are able to claim back tax that is paid on donations through the Gift Aid scheme.  Up until now, this is something Orchyd has not done.  As such, we have been missing out on 28p on every £1 that is donated.

In order for Orchyd to claim Gift Aid, anyone who makes a donation needs to sign a gift aid declaration.  As long as this person states that they want Orchyd to treat all of there donations as “Gift Aided”, they need only ever sign one form.

The Treasurers will be maintaining a list of all gift aid forms that are signed along with donations received, enabling Orchyd to claim tax back on all donations.

Below is a copy of a gift aid form.  If you receive a donation from anyone, please ask them to sign one and pass it onto me so we can claim the tax back.  There is also a generic sponsorship form, if anyone you know is doing a sponsored event and has offered the proceeds to Orchyd, please ask them to use this form.

Please note by signing a gift aid form, the donor is confirming that they pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax that the charity reclaims on your donations in the appropriate tax year (currently 28p for each £1 you give).  If they do not meet this requirement, please do not ask them to complete a form.
